Every year Capital Pride Alliance celebrates gay pride by hosting a pride celebration during gay pride month in June. Each year the non-profit organization along with its partners and sponsors hosts visitors from all over the country for its annual pride parade and pride festival.
2016 the organization awarded the Paving the Way award to the newly sworn in and first openly gay Secretary of the United States Army. They hosted Charlie Puth and Meghan Trainor onto their Capital Stage which is set up right in front of the United States Capital at the intersection of Constitution and Independence Avenues in Washington, DC.
